All Learning Has An Emotional Base
In a recent survey by Unicef, UK children are amongst the least happy of the 21 most
developed countries. This has a major impact on children’s learning and standards. Why should this be?
Children who exhibit emotional difficulties at an
early age, are often beset with behavioural and relationship difficulties in adult life.
Introducing MoodMon!
Thankfully— help is at hand! Our free software package, MoodMon, will help you to find out
how your children are feeling on a daily basis, enabling you to improve, discuss and raise
awareness of their emotional health and well being.
MoodMon is an exciting product designed to help support Emotional Literacy work, Healthy Schools outcomes,
the SEAL / DEAL curriculum, emotional well being and the readiness to learn of pupils.
It's ideal for use with an Interactive Whiteboard or stand-alone computer and its detailed reports
allow you to analyse the data and take appropriate action and follow-up,
giving you valuable information. Ideal for adding data into your SEF or Annual Reviews.

How it works
We've found that schools use MoodMon in many different ways and it very much depends on your individual needs. Some will have a laptop in the corner of the room, some will use the interactive white board and some teachers sit
down with each pupil and talk to them about how they feel, as they make their selection.
We recommend that you use MoodMon during registration time. As the children come in, they pick their picture on the screen and then choose how they feel from the emotions
along the bottom. That's it! Having made their choice, their picture then moves from the bottom to the top, so you can see at a glance who hasn't yet recorded. When the children are done, a summary of how the class feels is shown. Once the children get into the routine it's very quick.
With all the data from across the classrooms using MoodMon centrally stored, it means that you can see charts for each child, a registration group, a class, a group of friends, just boys or girls, a whole year and even the whole school for any period of time.
This kind of information is invaluable for any school placing Every Child Matters at the heart of its ethos.
